The Gulf Study Abroad AI Visibility Index 2026

Which UAE study abroad consultancies actually show up when students ask AI which one to use?

Nearly half of students researching where to study now start that search in ChatGPT, not Google. When a student in Dubai types “best study abroad consultant for Canada” into ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or a Google AI Overview, the AI doesn’t show ten blue links — it names three to five consultancies and stops there.

If your consultancy isn’t one of the names it picks, you don’t show up on page two. You don’t show up at all.

We tested 32 UAE-based study abroad consultancies against 30 real student and parent questions, across four AI platforms, to find out who’s actually being recommended — and who’s invisible.

Finding

The Headline Finding

17 of the 32 consultancies we tested were never mentioned once — not by ChatGPT, not by Claude, not by Perplexity, not by Google AI Overviews, across any of the 30 questions we asked. That’s more than half the list, including consultancies with real offices, real staff, and real student outcomes, getting zero AI recommendations.

Meanwhile, two consultancies — Edroots and Intelligent Partners — were recommended in roughly 1 out of every 4 checks we ran, consistently appearing first or second in the AI’s answer.

The gap between the top of this list and the bottom isn’t about which consultancy is better at their actual job. It’s about which ones have built the kind of online presence AI models trust enough to cite.

Scoring

What “Visibility Score” Means

Each consultancy was checked across 102 total touchpoints: 30 natural-language questions × 3 AI engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity), plus 12 additional spot-checks on Google AI Overviews for the highest-search-volume questions.

The score blends two things:

  • How often a consultancy was mentioned at all (70% weight)
  • How prominently it was mentioned when it did appear — first-named vs. buried in a list of five (30% weight)

A consultancy that’s mentioned rarely but always first ranks differently from one that’s mentioned often but always last. This score captures both.

Analysis

Why the Top 2 Are Pulling Ahead

Edroots and Intelligent Partners share a pattern: 15+ years of publicly documented experience, clear service breakdowns by destination country, and consistent, specific information about their offerings across the web. AI models don’t guess — they cite what they can verify. These two have simply given the models the most to verify.

Outside the set

Who’s Missing

Several well-known names came up constantly in our Google AI Overview checks — IDP, UniHawk, Aussizz Group — but weren’t part of this study’s tracked list of 32. Their strong presence is a signal in itself: even outside our named set, a small handful of brands are absorbing most of the AI-driven recommendation traffic in this market.

Next step

What This Means If You’re on the Zero List

Being invisible to AI search doesn’t mean your consultancy isn’t good. It means the specific, structured, citable information AI models look for isn’t reaching them — even if it’s sitting right there on your website.

The fix is not a redesign or a rebrand. It’s usually a focused set of changes: clearer service pages by destination and degree level, structured data markup, and content written in the direct, question-answering format AI models pull from.

We do exactly this. If you’d like to know exactly where your consultancy stands and what it would take to move up this list, get in touch.

Methodology note

This index reflects a curated set of 32 UAE-based study abroad consultancies and is not an exhaustive market survey. Testing was conducted in September 2026 across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews using 30 natural-language prompts modeled on real student and parent search behavior.
